A Good Week For Mountain Ash RFC

What a successful week last week was for Mountain Ash RFC. First up was the Youth's win in the semi-final of the League Champions Cup on Saturday 6 April, 32-22, against the Ospreys champions Neath Athletic. Then on Thursday 11 April they beat the Dragons champions, Newport HSOB, 22-16. The Young Firm now play Scarlets champions Crymych in the final on a date to be announced. On Saturday, the 1st XV won at home 24-17 against Porth Harlequins in an important Division 1 East Central game with a determined, committed display which takes the Old Firm up to 45 points with two games still remaining. And also on Saturday, the 2nd XV registered their 12th win from 17 games, scoring 6 tries in their 38-7 win over visitors Tylorstown in a Rhondda and East Glamorgan championship game which put them into 3rd spot, just one point behind second placed Brecon 2nd XV and 3 points behind leaders Rhydyfelin 2nd XV. The Under 12s are also in the Blues Plate Cup Final and will play Rhiwbina Under 12s on Sunday 19 May at Cardiff Arms Park.
